Embroidered Patches
The classic patch. Your design is stitched in thread on a twill base, with a raised, textured look. Ideal for logos, uniforms, workwear, clubs and hats. Choose partial or full embroidery coverage depending on your design.
Woven Patches
Made with thinner threads woven tightly together, giving a flat surface and much finer detail than embroidery. Best for small text, thin lines and detailed logos, and also used for clothing labels.
PVC Patches
Moulded from soft, flexible PVC with raised 2D or 3D detail. Waterproof, durable and easy to clean, which makes them popular for outdoor gear, tactical-style patches, hats and bags.
Chenille Patches
Thick, looped yarn with a soft, fuzzy texture, usually framed with an embroidered border. The traditional choice for letterman and varsity jackets, and a strong look for streetwear and school merch.

Backing and Attachment Options
- Sew-on: No adhesive. The most secure and permanent option, suitable for any patch type.
- Iron-on (heat seal): Heat-activated adhesive for quick application to cotton and poly-cotton fabrics. Stitching as well is recommended for items that will be washed often.
- Hook-and-loop: Hook side on the patch, with optional loop side supplied. Patches can be swapped on uniforms, bags and gear.
- Adhesive (peel-and-stick): For temporary use at events or on non-fabric surfaces.
- Pin back or magnet: Wear a patch like a badge without attaching it to fabric.
Specifications
Size Most patches are 2″–4″ (about 50–100 mm) on the longest side. Smaller hat patches and larger back patches are available.
Shape Any custom shape, die-cut to your outline, as well as standard circles, rectangles, shields and ovals.
Borders Merrow (overlocked) border for simple shapes, or heat-cut / laser-cut edges for detailed custom shapes.
Threads and colours Standard polyester threads matched to Pantone references, plus metallic gold and silver, glow-in-the-dark and other specialty threads.
Packaging Bulk packed as standard. Individual poly bags, backer cards and retail hang tags are available.
MOQ and Pricing
- Low minimums: Small runs are possible for most patch types. Your minimum depends on type, size and coverage, and we will confirm it on your quote.
- Volume breaks: Unit prices drop as quantity increases, typically at breaks such as 300, 500 and 1,000+ pieces.
- Minimum order value: $99 per order.
Price depends on patch type, size, embroidery coverage, number of colours, border, backing, packaging and delivery country. Send your artwork with a target quantity, or two or three options, and we will quote each.
Lead Time and Delivery
After proof approval, typical production time is around two to three weeks, plus shipping. Your quote will confirm the timeline for your order.
- UK, EU and Australia: We aim to ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), so duties and taxes are included in your quote.
- United States: Usually DAP (duties paid by the receiver), or DDP for larger orders, typically 500 pieces or more.
FAQ
Embroidered or woven: which should I choose? Choose embroidered for a classic, raised, textured look. Choose woven when your design has small text or fine detail, because woven patches hold detail better and lie flatter.
What is embroidery coverage? Coverage is the percentage of the patch surface that is stitched. At lower coverage, some of the twill base shows through as background. At 100%, the whole patch is stitched. Higher coverage means more stitches and usually a higher price.
Will iron-on patches stay on after washing? Iron-on backing works well for light use. For items washed often, such as uniforms and workwear, we recommend ironing on and then stitching around the edge, or choosing sew-on backing.
Can you make patches for hats? Yes. Embroidered, woven and PVC patches all work well on caps. We size them to fit the crown of the hat and can recommend a backing suited to your hat supplier’s application method.
What artwork do you need? Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) are ideal. A clear PNG or JPG is fine for quoting. If you only have a sketch, our team can prepare the production artwork.
Is the digital proof free? Yes. Every order includes a free digital proof showing size, thread colours, border and backing. Production starts only after you approve it.
Can I get a physical sample first? Yes. Pre-production samples are available at a sample cost, which may be credited against your bulk order. We will confirm details on your quote.
